Team activities with Niels Christian
Photo: Team activity "the Slingshot". Through team activities, teams participating in Generation Handball get an absolutely unique “first come, first served” opportunity to take a closer look at the mechanisms that are influencing the social interactions between the teammates. Besides being involved in handball as coach, Niels Christian Pedersen has over time obtained an exceedingly exhaustive knowledge about team management at all levels in the world of handball – both the individual and the team based kind. Presently, he works as a consulting team instructor with his own company Sequi as starting point. He has previously been team instructor of both Danish A and youth national teams as well as many youth and senior teams at a wide range of levels right from the U-14 class to the best national league. For the last 15 years, he has instructed on the Danish Handball Association’s course for coaches “Team Management and Psychology”, just as a number of public state institutions like the Danish Ministry of Taxation, Banedanmark (administration of Danish railway and infrastructure), and several municipalities and also private companies such as Lego, Siemens, Dansk Supermarked, and many more have benefitted a lot from Niels Christian Pedersen’s qualifications. During Generation Handball, Niels Christian Pedersen offers team activities for teams at all levels, and it is guaranteed to be entertaining. The team activities can contribute amazing knowledge about the team and its strengths and weaknesses, and coaches can benefit from this knowledge in their future work with player development. Possible focuses could be clarifying hierarchies or visualising the processes that form the basis of a team’s behaviour. Activities such as the catapult, the traffic jam, and the pipeline will definitely ensure lots of fun. Other interesting and even more in-depth activities could be analyses of goals and aims and clarification of values just as it also will be possible to have the team’s personal profiles analyses. Enjoy this small inspirational video about team activities: Text continues below the video
Newton FitnessTry out Newton Fitness training at Generation Handball. Find the scheduled times in the programme and simply show up. Newton Fitness is funny to look at but even funnier to be part of - and it's in fact also a very effective type of training. Newton Fitness takes place at the McDonald's beach courts every day during the festival (or in the VIP tent in case of poor weather). The entire point of Newton Fitness is that it can be done anywhere. It's a quite new weight training concept that uses Indian clubs (wooden exercise clubs). This training philosophy has been used for more than 200 years especially in military settings and sports. Newton Fitness has developed a subgroup of the training concept, which is ideal for handball players. Newton Fitness with Indian clubs mainly focuses on the shoulder joint. When you learn to train with Indian clubs, you'll be able to effectively prevent injuries, improve your level of performance, and of course also increase your shoulder's stability. Training with Indian clubs could be described as both complex and simple. Indian clubs provide both mobility, stability, and strength especially when in motion. A warm and strong joint daily performing in extreme positions is very difficult to injure when its movements takes place in orderly conditions. By pushing the shoulder joint to extreme positions numerous of times during work out, the movements will be like a massage for muscles of the shoulder joint and the neck. Increasing your shoulder's strength and stability carries a reduced work load to the joint e.g. when throwing a ball. Newton Fitness ApS is a Danish sports company, and they have developed a training concept that supports the game of handball.

DGI HandballIf you just can’t get enough of handball, here’s something new and different for you and your teammates: Try out Five-a-side and Street Handball with DGI Handball. DGI Handball is a Danish sports organisation, and in 2019, they're planning to be an even bigger part of Generation Handball. Await more info about exciting new activities! DGI Street handball (no registration – just show up!): Street handball is funny to watch but even more funny to play. It’s played on the asphalt street where the “sky is limit”, but in fact, it could be played anywhere, and that’s exactly the spirit of it: Handball can be played anywhere, and it’s a matter of having fun. Challenge your own and your teammates' creativity when you show off your coolest tricks. There are no specific rules, and the DGI staff will guide you. The green street handball ball is soft and is easily catched and controlled, which is why street handball is a game that everyone can participate in regardless of previous handball experience. Five-a-side (with or without registration): Five-a-side is a new concept and handball game where you play 5 against 5 in high speed. DGI has developed an entirely new type of ball that fits the style of the game. In Five-a-side, there’s no actual goal keeper, and the first player to be on his or hers own part of the court to defend the goal acts as goal keeper. Each match has a duration of 8 minutes, which makes the matches short and intense. If you would like to join, you just show up at the Five-a-side court at the parade courts (check out the programme for schedule). Teams can play either if they show up or if the match is planned in advance - we're open to both. We'll make small tournaments, and each tournament can include four (4) teams, so hurry up! The winner of the tournament wins Five-a-side handballs.
GH ESportDuring Generation Handball, ACES makes an incredible Esport area in the party tent. ACES cooperates with Campus Vejle, UBISOFT, and STATE Energy, and together they offer an amazing opportunity to experience Esport. Esport and computer games go very well with the three pillars of Generation Handball - FUN FIGHT FRIENDSHIP - as Esport strengthens skills within cooperation, communication, concentration, and coordination. These skills are also very important in other sports, and we look forward to mixing Esport and handball to learn from a combination of the two sports. Join ACES Generation Handball Esport in the party tent at the festival site. Find the scheduled times in the programme.
